Major Telecommunications Upgrade at Auckland Film Studios

Auckland Film Studios has carried out a major telecommunications upgrade on the studio lot, installing optical fibre and the latest digital communications server technology to allow seamless communication for productions of all sizes.

Optical fibre now links all the offices and Studio 5 with a connection to an external Telecom 100Mb/s optical fibre line. A second external Telecom optical fibre line is available for productions requiring extra bandwidth.

An NEC UNIVERGE 360 communications server has been installed to allow scaleable communications for productions small and large. The server supports TDM, IP, video, wired or wireless. It also provides three on-board applications and a full range of high-powered features that can be transparently shared between branches or remote locations. Individuals, departments and locations can work more efficiently by using this feature to communicate seamlessly in real time. Its expandability means it can work at any level, from a technically superb phone system, to a truly advanced unified communications platform, providing productions with a solution that lets them handle all their business communications on the device of their choice: their laptop, mobile phone or office phone.

The upgrade includes the latest spec. wireless to deliver full wireless connectivity anywhere in the offices, studios and workspaces.
