Film Studios is owned and managed by Auckland Film Studios
Limited (AFSL). AFSL is wholly owned by Auckland
Council Investments Limited, a CCO. Our studio facilities
are based in Waitakere, west of downtown Auckland.
Screen production at the Auckland
Film Studios site dates back to 1992 when filming
was undertaken in converted cool stores on the current
location for television pilots. This location evolved
into Henderson Valley Studios; a facility for film,
television and commercials production.
In 2006 Auckland Film Studios opened
its new Stage 5. This 1,942 square metre (21,000 square
feet) state of the art stage has been well received
by international productions. We have also recently
added new production offices to ensure that productions
are fully catered for.
A wide range of productions
have used Auckland Film Studios since its inception.
